There is an incredible day of chess at Trafalgar Square on July 16th! ChessFest is back and it's going to be bigger and better than ever before. This free chess festival, the largest one-day chess event in the UK, is open to everyone who loves the game or wants to learn. Now, let's talk about how to get to Trafalgar Square so you can join in the fun. The square is easily accessible by various modes of transportation.
By Tube: The closest Tube station to Trafalgar Square is Charing Cross, which can be accessed via the Bakerloo and Northern lines. If you are arriving into Waterloo station just head to the Northern line (Black) or Bakerloo line (Brown), on the London Underground. You can tap any visa card to pay on the gate, total tube travel for the day will be under £6 and debited from the card you used. Charring Cross is 2 stops north and around 5 mins. Trafalgar Square is then a short walk west.
